It’s Wednesday already and National Child Protection Week is well underway. Queensland officially launched Child Protection Week last Thursday August 30 at an event at Queensland Parliament House. Our Principal Consultant, who is also the Deputy Chair of the Queensland Child Protection Week Committee was there and is pictured with Di Farmer, Minister for Child safety, Youth and Women and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. During the event, Queensland recognised their Child Protection Week Award Winners.

National Child Protection Week was launched on Sunday September 2 with a video message by His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia. Since Sunday, NAPCAN have been running formal events in every state and territory which have included prominent guests such as the National Children’s Commissioner Megan Mitchell, Director of the Institute of Child Protection Studies at ACU Professor Daryl Higgins and Deputy Director (Practice Solutions) Australian Centre for Child Protection at University of South Australia Associate Professor Tim Moore.
